Start training as a driving instructor now, and become your own boss. Train at your own pace, and once your training is complete you can work what you want, when you want. We provide training for all stages of becoming a driving instructor and support you throughout your journey - and offer a franchise with us on completion of your training.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BECOME A DRIVING INSTRUCTOR
These are the main things that are essential to become a driving instructor.
FULL UK LICENSE
You need to have held a full UK license for at least 3 years. However, you can start your training 6 months before your 3 year anniversary.
21 YEARS OF AGE
You need to be at least 21 before you can supervise any leaner driver.
EYESITE
You should be able to read a normal sized number plate from 27.5 meters
NO CONVICTIONS
You should have no convictions that would prevent you joining the ADI register. You will need to complete an enhanced DBS when registering to train to become a driving instructor.
SO WHAT NEXT?
How does the journey to becoming a driving instructor work?
START TRAINING REAL STUDENTS
After you have successfully passed both parts 1 and 2 tests, you will start your 40 hours in-car part 3 instructional ability training. When you have completed the 40 hours training, you have the opportunity to apply for a PDI (potential driving instructor) badge. With this, you can start teaching real learners and earn money - to gain even more hands on experience before your final part 3 test.
